RMLV training stands for Responsible Management of Licensed Venues training. This training is required for all approved managers of licensed venues in Queensland and now includes your Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming approved Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.

RMLV training gives the manager the tools he or she needs to effectively lead a team of employees. When working in a licensed venue, there are many things that must be considered over and above the usual management strategies. Not only do you need to work with schedules, customer satisfaction and venue cleanliness, you must also deal with alcohol and/or gaming related issues, minors and patrons that drink or gamble to excess.

Balancing customer satisfaction with refusing to serve an intoxicated patron can be a tricky affair. That is where RMLV training comes in. This course points out the possible reasons behind the patron’s behavior, which will help you understand which method will be best for refusing service or, if necessary, evicting the patron from the premises. This must be done in a safe, respectful manner so that the patron is removed or denied with no harm to him or herself, the other customers or the staff. RMLV training will assist you in learning who to call for support when you are dealing with a patron that has become a danger to the establishment.

In addition to client care, this training points out the various licenses and permits needed to legally run the venue. These documents must be in order (and in some cases displayed) as well as current to avoid venue closure and fines. Thousands of dollars can be lost by missing the deadline of a document – dollars that you as a manager are responsible for. Knowing which government documents you need for your type of business as well as how often they must be replaced is a very important part of the management role.
